  • There is only one way to stop all this talk of the up and coming little sister vandy.
    STOMP H""ll out of them this fall on the field. Save a lot of instate recruiting problems.

    I'll bet you everything you own, which is probably nothing of value, that UT doesn't stomp the hell out of Vandy this fall. In fact, I would go so far as to say Vandy has act 2 and stomps the hell out of BUTCHUGGER U again in front of 50k people. By that time, the bandwagon will be completely empty.

  • Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina may be able to label Vanderbilt as "up and coming" but Tennessee RIGHT NOW is behind and has some catching up to to do. Emphasis was placed on the right now as I'm sure several will start to bring up all time records, 1998, etc...

Franklin has dumbed down your entrance requirements so you can compete with the rest of the SEC so ya'll can stop with the great education BS. Oh and you won't get down voted as much if you call him Mr. Jones FWIW.

  • Our entrance requirements have only increased over the past few years. Please get your facts straight. In this year's class, we have a number of kids who we competed against with the likes of Stanford. We almost got a 5.0 GPA 5.0 star kid. We backed away from numerous guys include one who committed early in the process and one who's brother plays for Vanderilt because of academics. CJF is just getting a higher percentage of the limited subset of kids who are high academic and high football achievers.

  • I understand that there are individual exceptions, but this thread illustrates that the current state of UT athletics couldn't occur to a nicer, classier bunch of folks (on the whole).

  • So, no UT fans were excited when 5th choice Butch Jones was hired, but now, just a couple of months later, we're supposed to fear him as some master coach and recruiter? Amazing transformation over in Knoxville.

    I have some very good friends who are UT fans.

  • Alright so this has digressed to name calling from the university that is supposed to be the Harvard of the south. Yes some of our fans are douchebags but is retaliation really needed "volgina"? Come on listen your coach is 15-11 he had a great season you smacked us last year but you need to realize one season isn't anything you guys are on the rise yes we are stuck in a crummy rut yes but I believe we are 73-29 all time against you all time and 23-2 since 1990 lets stop the name calling you guys are rising and building some thing that hopefully

    Sorry I didn't get back sooner. Been watching the president who must be a vandy alum from his economic views. He wants all you vandy fans to start school at 3 or 4 so you want get behind. He wants to mange your money for you so they can get their cut and want to have actually do any work themselves. Never bet on a sure thing, that is stealing.
