Mosely commits to...

  • Illinois. He has announced his decision.

He told me on Friday that he was going to commit to Illinois and told me that it was a tough decision, coming down to Vanderbilt and Illinois. So the Commodores were the clear runner up if that is any consolation.

He's a very good prospect and certainly would've been a good pickup but as we've mentioned before on here, the DB board is the one place that this doesn't sting as much because of all of the good targets still out there.

  • Not a big loss IMO would love to have him but there are better DBs on our board who we have a shot with.

  • Something about this just doesn't make any sense to me. I just can't see how a prospect, that VU really wants, comes all the way from Chicago to Nashville and shows up for a camp without anyone knowing he's coming. It kind of sounds like he wasn't really invited. He then leaves after a very short time on campus and chooses to attend another school. I know the official line is that VU wanted him but this has "not feeling the love" written all over it. I have to believe that VU wasn't ready to accept a commitment from him at this time.

On the contrary...he had a teammate that was coming down to the camp and asked if he wanted to ride down and he accepted. The staff was surprised but thrilled to have him on campus. Coming into the visit he was all Illinois, after leaving the visit he was up in the air, if not a little bit leaning toward vandy. I think this is just a matter of the more local program winning out.
