Jalen Ramsey visit update

  • Jalen has arrived out here at The Opening and his father tells me that Jalen and his parents flew into Seattle and made the drive down to Beaverton. They plan on taking an unofficial visit to Washington on July 9 following the camp.

    Jalen has always maintained an interest in UW due to the initial recruitment of Peter Sirmon back when he was at Tennessee.

    Vanderbilt - "Oderunt dum Metuant"

  • I can not believe how fast you guys have blew up... It must be a great feeling to know everything is headed in the right direction... As a UK fan I remember back in 07 and 08 what it was like to win big games and play people close despite the fact everyone had us as 20 point underdogs... The job Franklin has done blows my mind... At one point I thought Joker Phillips would be a better H-coach but wow was I wrong. Franklin has came in and you guys are landing big fish with worse facilities than us and playing almost everyone down to the wire and oh yea beat us by 30 all in 1.5 years under him... Eventhough we beat LSU back in 07 and won 8 games again in 08 we never did capitalize on the recruits like you guys are, Rich Brooks was a great coach but his staff (other than Joker and Randy Sanders) were awful recruiters, they played golf every weekend... I really hope Franklin sticks around so I can see a team similar to UK (but less tradition and facilities) come out of nowhere and shock the world. I never thought I would say I now envy Vandy fans... Good luck guys, real talk.

    We have by no means arrived to where we want to be. I keep telling everyone it's a marathon and not a sprint. Trust the process.

  • Well when your a UK fan that likes BB but loves FB it's hard to be upbeat, there's a lot like me out here it just sucks that things have been on a downward spiral as of late... Last year was a joke, we lost three games by a combined score of 130-20 and you guys were part of that thrashing... I really hope Joker can get it done because he's from KY and loves the program, he also wouldn't jump ship, I'm just not sure if he has enough mojo or help from the Athletic dept and board of Trustees... If Franklin really sticks around like he continues to say I see no reason why Vandy can't be the best team in TN and maybe even one of the best in the EAST pretty soon...

    It must be nice to know a top 25 hual is on the way for 13... Good luck except when we play...

    I'm thinking about coming up to Lexington for the Vandy game. Any advice on parking and how cheap do you think tickets will go for?

  • I've seen several tweets from random analysts claiming USC and Vandy as Ramsey's leaders with USC expected. Starting to wonder if USC is just a gut feeling for many because, well, it's USC, or if the Ramsey family has said anything to indicate USC was his leader. We'll find out a week from tomorrow.
