What was the recruitment like that he did not know he would have to wait and/or compete for playing time? Hard to imagine a scenario that doesn't make coaching staff look less than bright or less than competent on this one.
Totally disagree. It makes the kid and his family / advisers look incompetent, not the coaching staff. It takes 1 minute to look at the roster and see who is in line before you. How do you commit somewhere before doing that basic step?
I always thought this was a weird signing, considering the Eric McClellan transfer and the relative uselessness of Shelby Moats.
But don't coaches always lay out the roster and show the kid where he fits into the scheme of things in terms of playing time, etc.? I thought that was just a basic thing.
