I’d also like to give you an idea about what this site is and what kind of coverage you can expect from this site moving forward.

Vanderbilt, as an athletic department, is at an outstanding time in its history. The Commodores are owners of a 2012 SEC championship in basketball, a perennial national power in baseball and a football program that has earned a bowl birth in two of the past three years. There has never been a better time to be a fan of Vanderbilt.

With that being said, initially this site will focus primarily on football recruiting coverage with some football team coverage mixed in. As the site grows, we’ll be able to re-invest and extend our coverage. However we’ll still have complete discussion on Vanderbilt athletics on our message board and with the way our boards are designed at 247Sports, it cultivates discussion to make this community the destination for Vanderbilt fans.

Our board is a combination of free and premium. For example, you only have to be a registered user of this site to post and topics are free to read by everyone unless you mark your post VIP by checking the box, “show post to only Vandy247 fans”. If a post is VIP, only members of this site and this site only will be able to read it. It allows for topics such as game threads to be open for everyone while keeping the sensitive, inside information just for the VIP members.

We have a timeline feature on our prospect database pages that keeps track of where players have visited, when offers have arrived where prospects have camped and loads of other information. There are other bells and whistles that you will familiarize yourself with as you spend time on the site but that is a small sampling of what you can expect over here.
