  • Walker May was named defensive lineman of the week. Jordan Rodgers and Jordan Matthews both earned recognition as well.

    TAMU's Johnny Manziel generated 345 total yards to lead Texas AM to a 29-24 win over top-ranked Alabama. He completed 24-of-31 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 92 rushing yards on 18 carries. With the game, Manziel became the second freshman in NCAA FBS history to rush for 1,000 yards and pass for 2,000 yards in a single-season (Brad Smith, Missouri, 2002)., SEC NEWS
