Bryce Lewis was one of two pickups from Georgia for the Commodores on Saturday.
Vanderbilt had a big Saturday
In the span of a few hours, the Commodores picked up three verbal commitments.
247Sports National Scouting Director Gerry Hamilton gives a mini-scouting report for each.
School -- Lilburn, GA (Parkview)
Position -- Cornerback/Safety
Height/Weight -- 6-1/170
Hamilton's thoughts -- "Lewis is a long, rangy cornerback prospect that drives really well out of T-step. He excels in off coverage, as a quicker than fast closer on the ball. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is also reactive against the run and does a very good job of taking the legs of backs and receivers."
School -- Stone Mountain, GA (Stephenson)
Position -- ATH
Height/Weight -- 6-0/200
Hamilton's thoughts -- "The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Rivers is a versatile athlete we really like. He has a proportioned build with very good feet, agility, balance and is a physical player. He's quicker than fast, and that shows up at running back or striking on defense. Long term, he could play outside linebacker or hybrid safety/linebacker as an in the box player."
School -- Murfreesboro, TN (Oakland)
Position -- Safety
Height/Weight -- 6-2/200
Hamilton's thoughts -- "Emmanuel Smith is a jack-of-all-trades that lines up at quarterback, receiver, safety and returns kicks for Oakland High. His physicality and playmaking stand out in person and on video. At safety, the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder shows impressive instincts and is physical striker that has inside out quickness."
