The Buffaloes took a hit last night when one of their top commits decided to open things up. The move by Parker (Colo.) Chaparral tight end Mitch Parsons to open things up and look around was not a surprise however.
In recent weeks Parsons had been on record indicating he was open to looking around and planning other visits. However, until last night, he had remained committed to Colorado.
Since Parsons had committed so early in the process, back in March, that may have slowed down his recruitment. That appears to have changed with his open position.
"Yes I decided it was best for me to decommit from Colorado for now," Parsons said. "The schools I'm in the most contact with right now are Cal, Washington, Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. I'm open to anyone who is interested."
Parsons has a rating of 89 per 247Sports, making him a three-star player. He has a 247Composite rating of 87.
He has one official visit set for Cal on Dec. 7.
